Lois LowryThe author (Lois Lawry) was born on March 20th, 1937 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Throughout her career she has mainly written books that're more geared towards children. The cool thing about this author is that she uses very good story's to teach children things like racism, terminal illness, and the holocaust, in a more descriptive and connecting way.
Lois has won two newbery metals in her lifetime, on in 1990 for "Number the stars", and the other for "The Giver" in 1994. In 2014 she was presented with the title ,"Doctorate of Letters" by Brown University. Her award winning book "The Giver" was made into an amazing film in 2014. |
